(San Antonio, TX) – Claire Hemmi of Scotland and Blaire Schreiber of Windthorst were selected to receive the 2019 All American Scholar Award sponsored by Catholic Life Insurance, one of the nation’s top ten largest fraternal life insurers. Each year, Catholic Life awards 35 scholarships worth $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors who have not only demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and academic achievements, but have also gone above and beyond in their civic duties and made a difference in their communities.

Hemmi, who plans to attend Midwestern State University this fall, is the daughter of Bryan and Kim Hemmi. She submitted an impressive resume of extracurricular activities that include volleyball, basketball, track, tennis, softball Family Career & Community Leaders of America, School Health Advisory Council, 4-H, St. Mary’s Youth Group, and PALS. She has volunteered with St. Boniface Church in various projects, BRAVO, helped organize teacher’s classrooms, teach swim lessons, coach 6th-grade volleyball team, and Run with Lois Fun Run.

Schreiber, who plans to attend Midwestern State University this fall, is the daughter of Daniel and Tracy Schreiber. She submitted an impressive resume of extracurricular activities that include volleyball, basketball, softball, track, tennis, National Honor Society, Student Council, FFA, UIL Calculator Applications, Prom Committee, and BRAVO. She has volunteered with Junior League Alzheimer’s Benefit, Falls Fest, Teens Make a Difference, Passion of the Cross, St. Mary’s Youth Choir, canned food drive, Children’s Liturgy Leader, Mission Volunteer Babysitting, and Bible School Leader.
