Mary Lee Crowley Hawkins

It was a “magnificent March” as Mary Lee Crowley Hawkins celebrated her 101st birthday with repeated gatherings of joy. Royal Estates gave her a surprise birthday party complete with The Rusty Nail band performing. She enjoyed a dance with son-in-law Mike Stewart, and the company of her family and treasured friends at Royal Estates.

Later in the month on her “real” birthday, March 25th, she ventured to the hunting camp in the country for a fish fry with family. A little windy, but the weather could not dampen her lively spirit.

On March 31st, around fifty family members and friends gathered at her house in Archer City for a backyard cookout. She enjoyed seeing several of her old friends and reliving old times. One former student, Johnny Bart Hudson, even recited “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost for her which he had learned in her English class many years ago.

She is truly blessed and blesses ALL who know her!

Always held you in awe as my English, history and home room teacher, but I have to say that getting Mike Stewart to dance has got to be one of your greatest accomplishments.
Happy Birthday--we all love you!
