An Abilene man died in a Monday, Aug. 31, morning single vehicle rollover just north of Archer City.

Around 5:30 a.m., Irvine Parker White, 39, was traveling south on Hwy. 79 north of Davis Road in a 2001 Chevy SUV when the vehicle drove straight through a curve and left the roadway for unknown reasons, according Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Dan Buesing.

Upon the leaving the roadway, the SUV rolled over several times and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Archer County Sheriff’s Office, Archer City Volunteer Fire Department, Archer City Ambulance and DPS all responded to the scene, according to the ACSO’s call records. A request for an Air Evac helicopter was made before the call was cancelled a few minutes later.

Archer County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Joe Aulds was called to the scene and pronounced White dead.
