Tanner Young to return to Texasville Opry this Saturday

The nineteenth season of The Texasville Opry marches onward at the Royal Theater this Saturday, June 1st with its “Legends of Country Music Show” featuring the return of popular performer, Tanner Young from Oklahoma.

“We are so excited to have Tanner returning to the Opry,” stated Gary Beesinger, Opry producer. “He is an extremely talented young man and a seasoned performer.”

In addition to holding the title of ‘2017 Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the Paul’s Valley Opry, Young won the ‘Rising Legend’ award presented by the National Traditional Country Music Association as well as the‘Classic Gospel CD of the Year’ by the Rural Roots Music Commission, and was 1st Runner-Up of ‘The People’s Choice Award’ by the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.

All performers will be singing the standard classic and traditional hits of legendary Country and Western artists. They will be backed by the Texasville Opry House Band, ‘TEXAS PRIDE’ consisting of Andy Martin of Wichita Falls on lead, Roger Watson of Burkburnett on the Steel, Paula Alcorn of Henrietta on the Drums, Mark Beauchamp of Wichita Falls on Bass and Joel Hare of Wichita Falls on the keyboard. Performers scheduled to appear will be Melisa Huff, David Levy and Tammy Lee of Archer City, Chris Whalen and Connie Smithee of Wichita Falls, Roger Watson of Burkburnett, Gene Everitt of Bedford, Marli Kermiar of Scotland and Nathan Morgan of Jacksboro. In addition, ‘Tator Presley, 16th cousin, three times removed’ will make an appearance.

Beesinger said that The Texasville Opry has proved to be the top dog of north Texas and southern Oklahoma’s best opries. There are over 125 season ticket holders and most shows are sold out.

Upcoming shows for the Opry will be September 7th and will feature Lisa Layne returning as 'Patsy Cline – A Special Concert' and the December 7th 'Country Christmas and Gospel Show.'
