Rondald Franklin Jeffries

Ronald Franklin “Ron” Jeffries, age 80, passed away Thursday, July 23, in San Antonio.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Ron’s cremains will then be placed in Santa Fe National Cemetery beside his son, Ronald F. Jeffries, Jr.

Ron was born July 18, 1940 in Hillsboro, Ill. to Edwin Levy Jeffries and Savilla Lasater Jeffries. He graduated from Robertson High School and then attended Highland University in Las Vegas, N.M.

Ron honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1964. Ron lived a full, exciting and crazy life. He was a fireman, a welder, oilfield engineer, Archer County Deputy from 1983 until 1992 when he retired. He also served on the Archer City City Council and was the Mayor of Archer City.

Survivors include his two daughters, Teresa Sanchez and Terrie Bedford; grandchildren Cody Bedford, Collin Bedford, Shannon Clark and Anthony Sanchez; great-grandchildren Alyssa Clark and Jackson Clark; and his fur children, Dexter Jeffries and Cindy Jeffries.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald F. Jeffries, Jr. and his parents Eddy and Savilla Jeffries.

The family suggests memorials to the Archer Service Center, P.O. Box 578, Archer City, Texas 76351.
