Windthorst Trojan senior Awtry Blagg drives to the basket against Midway

Archer City Lady Cats

The Lady Cats hosted the Quanah Lady Indians last Friday evening in the first game of District 9-2A. Archer City got off on the right foot with a 47-41 win. Aspyn Huseman and Maddie Lopez were both in double figures with 11. Delaini Hanna and Bailey Grant each had 9. Mallorey Maxwell was 6 for 6 from the free throw line. The Lady Cats jumped out to a 16-5 first quarter lead. They opened up a 41-28 lead after 3 periods. A fourth quarter Quanah rally fell short to give the Lady Cats a final victory of 47-41.

Next Tuesday the Lady Cats will be visiting the Olney gym for the second district game of the season. The JV game is scheduled for 1 pm with the varsity game to follow around 2:30 pm. On January 2 Archer City will continue district play against the Petrolia Lady Pirates. The JV game will start at 3:30 pm and the varsity game should start around 4:45.

Archer City Wildcats

The Wildcats are entered in the Caprock Tournament in Lubbock from December 26-28.

Windthorst Trojanettes

The Trojanettes beat the Olney Lady Cubs last Friday 39-19. The 20 point margin gave Windthorst the first District 9-2A win. Kora Pennartz scored 14 points and Camryn Latham had 10. The Trojanettes took a 19-5 halftime lead before cruising to the win.

The Trojanettes will be playing in the Windthorst Tournament after Christmas from December 26-28. After the tournament they will they will continue district play on the road in Petrolia. JV

Windthorst Trojans

Last Friday night the Trojans played host to Midway. Windthorst won57-40. Awtry Blagg had 17 points, Max Owen had 15 hitting on 5 three point shots, and Gavin Steinberger had 13.

The Trojanettes will be playing in the Windthorst Tournament after Christmas from December 26-28.

Holliday Lady Eagles

The Lady Eagles visited the Hirschi gym last Friday. Despite Sarah Cowan’s 21 point effort Holliday came up a basket short. The Lady Eagles led 36-27 after three periods, but an 18 point rally by the Lady Huskies allowed them take a 2 point win.

The Lady Eagles will compete in a tournament in Eula from the 26-28 and return home for a game against Graham on Tuesday the 31st at 11:00 am. The varsity game should start around 12:30pm.

Holliday Eagles

The Hirschi Huskies beat the Eagles 39-29 in the Hirschi Gym last Friday. The Huskies outscored the Eagles 14-7 in the third period to pull away. Tucker Strealy scored 23 points for Holliday in the losing effort.

The Eagles will compete in a tournament in Eula from the 26-28 then return home for a game against Stamford on Thursday, January 2.
