The Trojanettes played Henrietta on Tuesday December 10. The final score was Henrietta 39 Windthorst 34. The Trojanettes connected on 7 three pointers in the losing effort. Last Thursday at Poolville’s Mesquite Pit Classic Springtown came out on top 53-32. On Friday Windthorst ran past Petrolia 61-26. In the win over the Lady Pirates Abby Brown had 18 points with four three point baskets and Kora Pennartz had 14.
The Trojanettes will open District 9-2A competition this Friday as they host the Olney Lady Cubs.
The Trojans had a busy week last week. On Tuesday, December 10, they lost to Henrietta 59-44. Awtry Blagg had 17 points and Max Owen had 14.
Last Thursday at a tournament in Santo they beat the Santo Wildcats 49-23 and the Granbury JV 50-37. They lost in the tournament to Trinity Christian out of Willow Park 50-47. In a tournament rematch with Santo on Saturday they won 44-26.
The Trojans played Mineral Wells last Tuesday in Mineral Wells. Results were not available at press time. This Friday they will play Midway in Henrietta at 4:30 pm.
Holliday Lady Eagles
The Lady Eagles posted two wins last week. On Tuesday December 10 they jumped out to a 33-11 lead at halftime over the Seymour Lady Panthers then cruised to a 59-22 victory. Sarah Cowan scored 18 points, sinking 3 three point baskets in the second half. Katy Piper scored 14.
Last Friday they bested Burkburnett 58-29. Scotta Anderson scored 13 points with Cowan adding 11. Last Tuesday Holliday was on the road to Wichita Falls High School to take on the Lady Coyotes, but results were not available at press time. This Friday they will take on Hirschi in the Hirschi gym.
After Christmas they will enter the Eula Holiday Classic. District 8-3A competition will begin for the Holliday Lady Eagles on Friday January 10 in Holliday at 6pm. JV game is scheduled for 4:30.
The Eagles lost a close game to Wichita Falls High School in overtime on Tuesday, December 10. In a low scoring affair ending in regulation 27-27 the Eagles came up two points short in overtime. Tucker Strealy had 14 points for the Eagles.
Later in the week in the Jacksboro Tournament they beat Springtown 56-50, Lindsay 40-31, and Jacksboro 37-33. On Saturday they fell to Pampa 56-36.
The Eagles traveled to the Archer City gym to take on the Wildcats last Tuesday, but results were not available at press time. They will go to the Hirschi gym this Friday for a 7:30pm tip off. After Christmas they will compete in the Eula Holliday Classic.
District 8-3A competition will begin for them at home against Nocona on Friday January 17.
Archer City Lady Cats
The Lady Cats had a game last Friday against City View. The Lady Mustangs had a couple of key players out but were no match for the Lady Cats. The final score was 54-14. Aspyn Huseman scored 19 points and Delaini Hanna had 9.
The Lady Cats will host the Quanah Lady Indians this Friday for their District 9-2A opener. The next district game is against Olney on Tuesday. December 31. Game time for the JV game has been moved up to 1pm and the varsity game should begin about 2:30pm.
The third district game for the Lady Cats against Petrolia was scheduled for January 3. That game has been moved to Thursday, January 2, to accommodate the Archer County Junior Livestock Show. Game time for JV games will be 3:30 and 4:45. Varsity games start after the JV games and the Lady Cats should tip off around 6pm.
Archer City Wildcats
The Wildcats had a home game against Breckenridge on Tuesday December 10. The Buckaroos beat the Wildcats 70-59. Archer City trailed 46-44 going into the final quarter. Breckenridge outscored the Wildcats 24-15 in the last quarter to pull away for the 11 point victory.
This past weekend the Wildcats played in the Jacksboro Tournament. They beat Boyd last Thursday 53-30, but dropped the next two to Muenster 48-28 and Gainesville 71-52. Archer City won on Saturday over the Springtown Porcupines 56-55. Against the Porcupines the Wildcats had two players in double figures. Senior Justin Mabry had 17 and Junior Walker Kulhanek had 15.
The Wildcats played the Holliday Eagles last Tuesday, however, scores were not available at press time. After Christmas Archer City will travel to Lubbock for the Caprock Tournament.
District 9-2A competition will begin on January 2 against Petrolia. The game was scheduled for January 3. That game has been moved to Thursday, January 2, to accommodate the Archer County Junior Livestock Show. Game time for JV games will be 3:30 and 4:45. Varsity games will start after the JV games and the Lady Cats should tip off around 6pm with the Wildcats starting around 8pm.
