WICHITA FALLS - Holliday senior point guard Chase Borchardt and Archer City senior post player Jacob Wilhelm did their part for the West Team in a 57-56 victory last Friday night in the Rider High School gym. Borchardt had a three pointer scoring 5 points for the night, but more importantly he was there on defense when Burkburnett’s KenDarious Horton put up a three point shot at the buzzer. Had Horton got a clean look at the basket the East might have pulled out the win.

Wilhelm finished a stellar basketball career on a winning note. He got a bucket on the low post and made 2 free throws against some of the best 5A, 4A, and 3A players in the Area. He said, “It was a lot of fun. Especially playing with players from the bigger schools. It was a lot different than play at the 2A level. Getting to know players from other schools and making friends made it a lot of fun.”

Graford’s point guard Preston Tabor was the West Team high point scorer with 17. His father Ty Tabor, the Head Coach at Graford, has an Archer City connection having coached the Wildcats for a few seasons. The West Team was made up of players from Graford, Santo, Holliday, Rider, Benjamin, Quanah, Vernon, Olney, and Archer City. The East Team had players from Nocona, Gold-Burg, Wichita Falls High School, Henrietta, Muenster, Hirschi, Bowie, Burkburnett, and Graham.
