WICHITA FALLS – When two Archer County players were selected for the Oil Bowl Basketball Classic one went East and one went West. Holliday’s senior post player Ambri Harrigal and Windthorst’s senior guard Claire Hemmi could not both be on the winning team given the draw, but both played well for their prospective teams. Harrigal had 4 points for the winning East Team and Hemmi had 2 for the West Team.

Harrigal’s East Team came out on top last Friday with a 60-49 victory. The East Team led 32-19 on the strength of the 12 first half points scored by Olney’s shooting guard Jae Montgomery. When the West closed the margin to 48-43 with 3:35 left in the contest Jacksboro’s Leah Plaster took over scoring six points down the stretch to seal the victory for the East Team.

The West Team was composed of players from Windthorst, Electra, Newcastle, Wichita Falls High School, Bellevue, Quanah, Nocona, and Wichita Christian. The winning East Team was composed of players from Iowa Park, Henrietta, Holliday, Vernon, Hirschi, Notre Dame, Jacksboro, Olney, and Burkburnett.
