Oil Bowl Football Game
The 82nd Annual Maskat Shrine Oil Bowl Charity Football Game to be played this Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas will feature 11 seniors recently graduated from Archer County High Schools. The Pregame activities will start at 7pm with kickoff at 7:30pm
General Admission seats are $10 and Reserved Seating is $15. The players selected are placed on either the West All-Stars or East All-Stars.
Funds raised in the Oil Bowl games support Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Shrine motto is "having fun helping kids." Beginning in 2012, all net proceeds of the game have gone to help the children who are patients in a network of 22 hospitals. Shriners Hospitals maintain the network and provide care to the children at no cost to families. Of the funds raised 96% goes to patient care.
Six players from Holliday High School will play on the West All-Stars coached by Aubrey Smith (Iowa Park) and Danny Youngs (Brazosport). The East All-Stars will have 2 Windthorst High School players and 3 Archer City High School players. The East All-Stars are coached by Archer City High Schools Head Coach Shad Hanna. He will have the help of two of his assistants, Donny Gray and Tim Pope. Burkburnett’s Jason Meng is the coach selected to handle the East All-Star offense.

Oil Bowl Volleyball Game
Windthorst High School Head Volleyball Coach Allison Bussey will coach the West All-Stars in the first ever Oil Bowl Volleyball game. The Maskat Shrine has added volleyball to the lineup of charity games to showcase the talents of the talented volleyball players in our area. Henrietta’s Volleyball Coach Rochelle Kabisch will coach the East All-Stars. There will be a Small School Game at 4pm in the Rider High School Gym in Wichita Falls on Saturday afternoon. The Large School game will follow.
The West Small School team will feature Archer City High School’s Libero, Sam Clements, and Windthorst High School’s Mid Hitter, Mollee Kirk. The East Large School will feature Holliday High School Libero, Mikaylee Parker. Another Holliday player, Breanna Box, will be on the West Large School roster as an Outside Hitter/Mid Blocker.
Oil Bowl Girls and Boys Basketball Game
The Oil Bowl All-Star Basketball Games will be played in the Rider High School Gym on Friday night June 14. The girls will tip off at 6pm and the boys will tip off at 7:30pm. Holliday’s Point Guard, Chase Borchardt, will join Archer City’s Center, Jacob Wilhelm, on the West All-Stars. Cliff McGuire (Wichita Falls) will coach the West Team and Lynn Cook (Muenster) will coach the East Team
The girl’s game will showcase 2 Archer County standouts. Windthorst’s Guard/Post, Claire Hemmi, will line up for the West All-Stars and Holliday High School Post, Ambri Harrigal, will line up for the East All-Stars. Doug Hunt (Seymour) will coach the West team and Kra Taura Buckner (Wichita Falls) will coach the East Team.
Fans of Archer County athletics are in for a treat this weekend. There will be Lady Eagles, Lady Cats, and Trojanettes along with Eagles, Trojans, and Wildcats spread out over Oil Bowl activities on Friday and Saturday.
