The Archer County News will be changing the date of its printing which will cause slight modifications to the distribution times of its weekly publication. The change will go into effect starting with the Jan. 20 edition.

Ownership and Management of the newspaper recently came to the decision to push the newspaper’s print time from the evening of Tuesdays to the morning of Wednesdays. This change will allow for the newspaper to provide timely coverage of Tuesday night sporting events and city council meetings instead of having to hold these events for nine days for the next publication.

The change will also shift the time we are able to pick up our publication for distribution from our Wichita Falls based printer. The newspaper had been picking up the paper in the mornings of Wednesday which will now shift to the afternoon of Wednesdays.

The newspaper is hopeful that despite the change, Archer City residents will still have the paper in their post office boxes on late Wednesday afternoons while otherArcher County residents should have the paper in their boxes on Thursday mornings.

The printing change will also mean that Oodles, Lucky’s Café, Berend Bros – Megargel, RTs, Hwy. 79 Stop, The SHAC and Joe’s Kwik Stop which sell the paper will not have the papers until the late afternoons of Wednesday.

Those who receive the online edition will now receive the edition at 6 p.m. Wednesday instead of 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Archer County News’ Thursday publication date will not change. Advertising deadlines of noon Tuesdays will also not be affected by this change. Anybody with questions or concerns may call the office at 940-574-4569, stop by the office at 104 E. Walnut in Archer City or email publisher@archercountynews.com.
