Carolyn Kay White Schroeder, 70, died Jan. 20, surrounded by family at home in Archer City.

She was born in Chester, Illinois, on April 1, 1950, to Kenneth Henry White and Marcella Ailene Morris White. She attended school at Archer City ISD and married Kenneth Anthony Schroeder in Wichita Falls on Nov. 28, 1969.

Carolyn was a devoted caretaker and homemaker who treasured her family and pets. She also worked at the nursing home in Archer City and was an employee and manager of Dairy Queen. In the late 1980s she operated her own restaurant called Carolyn’s. She loved John Wayne movies and taking care of her yard.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Kenny; son Michael Wayne Schroeder and wife Krista of Fort Worth; son Steven Anthony Schroeder and wife Jenny of Archer City; daughter Stacy Lynn Schroeder Fair and husband Jesse of Archer City; grandchildren Camille Ahearn, Austyn Jones, Kolbi Cox, Audrey Schroeder, Caden Green, Sara Schroeder, and Kolin Cox; and cousin Sharon Morris Sattelberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Wayne White, J.W. White, and Butch White and her sister Juanita White Nichols.

Visitation was scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, at Aulds Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, in the chapel at Aulds. Pallbearers were Donny Bates, Kevin Conrady, Kolbi Cox, Kolin Cox, Caden Green, Austyn Jones, Billy Moorehead, and J.J. White.
