David Mendoza Villanueva, age 76, passed away peacefully in his home in Archer City.

Services were held at 2.m. Wednesday, Oct.4, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

David was born Oct. 29, 1946 in San Marcos to the late Adolfo C. Villanueva and Pauline Mendoza Villanueva.

David was a 1964 graduate and was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He honorably served his country from 1965 until 1971 where his active duty was in South Vietnam. After his tour of duty, he was employed by Glastron Industries for five years and attended Business College. He then worked for Kerrville Bus Company for thirteen years and finally Capital Metro in Austin for fourteen years.

On June 5, 1996, he married the love of his life and soul mate, April Eustace after a two-and-a-half-year courtship in Victoria, Texas. In 1999, they moved to Archer City where they made their home.

David loved to work on cars, go to car shows and enjoyed his animals. His greatest joy was his grandchildren.

David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City, and the American Legion, Post 198. He also served as commander of the VFW in San Marcos for several years.

David will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew him including his wife, April of Archer City; six children, Christopher Villanueva and partner, Kyle of Dallas, Cheryl Villanueva of Wichita Falls, Jennifer Lopez and husband, Arturo of Austin, Sandra Villanueva of Austin, Aaron Villanueva and wife, Marissa of Washington, Missouri and Cheyenne Villanueva and Jamal Jones of Archer City; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Villanueva and wife, Elvia of Martindale, Rudy Villanueva of San Marcos, Eddie Villanueva and wife, Emma of San Marcos and Bobby Villanueva and wife, Rose of San Marcos; brotherin- law, Richard Rodriquez of Martindale; two sisters, Gloria Sierra of San Marcos, Betty Alejandro and husband, Danny of Austin; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Rodriquez and Bea Medrano; sister-in-law, Gloria Villanueva; brother-in-law, Pete Sierra; four nephews; and one niece.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Beyond Faith Hospice especially to Beverly, Lisa and Tim for all the love, concern and support that they gave David and his family.
