Norene Carr Rux, age 74, of Archer City, Texas passed away, Saturday night, Feb. 13, in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Verner Hayhurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Norene was born Dec. 10, 1946 to the late Elbie Claudie Carr and Evelyn Francis McKee Carr in Canadian, Texas.

She and Richard Rux were married Aug. 1, 1968 in Canadian. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2016.

Norene was employed for nearly fifty years as an LVN. Her passion was taking care of others and everyone’s needs came before hers. Norene followed her children and grandchildren cheering for them in all of their activities. However, her biggest pride and joy was her great-granddaughter, Blake Whatley.

When Norene decided to have some fun, she would get with her core group of friends better known as the “Fabulous Five”. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Canadian and also Archer City,

Survivors include her son, Clifford Anthony “Tony” Rux-Brooks and husband, Troy Rux-Brooks of New Orleans, La.; daughters, Gwendolyn King and Jamie Casillas and husband, Vince of Archer City; eight grandchildren, Jordan Whatley and husband, Justin, Logan King, Hayden King, McKenzie Pryor, Trae King, Alyssa Casillas, Katelyn Casillas and Maci Casillas; one great-granddaughter, Blake Whatley and numerous friends.

She was also preceded in death by son, Paul Lynn Rux; sisters, Tex and Carol Ann and brothers, Robert and Dale.
