A slow start cost Archer City a set in their bi-district win over Alvord. The Lady Cats did not make that mistake a second time, racing out to a commanding lead before blowing away an overmatched Bosqueville team, 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-8), in the Region II-2A area round of the playoffs. Mayor Jake Truette provided an update on the process of creating a 501c3 nonprofit for the ambulance service during an Archer City Council meeting on Thursday, April 18. Truette said he recently spoke with 501c3 attorney Darren Moore, of Fort Worth, about the process of creating a non-profit to support the Archer City and county ambulance service.

Five WHS students advance to Regional UIL Meet

Windthorst High School had multiple students advancing to the Regional Academic meet following strong performances in the district meet earlier this month. For Windthorst, Levi Hoffman, Tanner Doyal, Maddison Farris and Diego Sanchez will advance to the regional meet at Grayson College in Denison on April 26-27.
