Holliday christened its new baseball and softball complex with a sweep of Vernon on Friday, April 5. The Lady Eagles drubbed the Lady Lions 11-0 before the Eagles walked off the Lions on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch, 3-2.

It was an impressive district showing for the Eagles and Lady Eagles at the District 7-3A Track and Field Meet on Weds., April 3, with Holliday sweeping both boys and girls championships for the first time since 2013. While the girls success has been well documented, a renewed interest in the boys track program has fueled the Eagles’ to their first district title in over a decade, outpacing Vernon by 40.

The fans that attended the double-header matchup between the Archer City Lady Cats and top-ranked Graford Lady Rabbits on Tuesday, April 2 witnessed a pair of thrilling contests as both games came down to a one-run difference, with one even going into extra innings.

The Trojanettes travelled to Olney to take on the Lady Cubs in district softball double-header on Tuesday, April 2. Windthorst looked to bounce back after their shutout loss to Archer City just a week prior, while Olney was desperate to snag their first district win of the season. The Trojanettes had other intentions.

The Archer City Wildcats took on the Seymour Panthers in district action on Tuesday, April 2 and Friday, April 5, losing both contests. Holliday junior Hunter Jones made up a two-stroke deficit in the second round by shooting a round-low 73 to fend off Bowie’s Andrew Sandoff and Jacksboro’s Rhett Hammond to capture the District 7-3A title on March 27 at Runaway Bay Golf Course.
