None of the six candidates got a clear majority of votes for the Senate District 30 unexpired term of Pat Fallon. Shelley Luther and Drew Springer garnered enough votes to face each other in a special runoff election. Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation on Oct.10 setting the date for the runoff on Saturday, Dec. 19. Early voting in this winner take all matchup begins Dec. 9.

Traffic and pedestrian traffic congestion in and around the 600 Block of S. Archer County Judge Randy Jackson announced the county had 98 positive cases with five of them being active as of Tuesday, Oct 13. The county also has reported one COVID-19 related fatality.
