The Royal Theater stage will feature the return of the Texasville Opry for three shows in 2022.

In addition, thanks to grants from the Texas Commission on the Arts, Brave Combo and The Legend of Big Bend, an orchestral, audio-visual experience performed by Montopolis, are a part of the Royal Theater Live lineup. This year’s plan is to provide a more family-oriented schedule with hopes of broadening the appeal to local patrons.

Royal Board Chairman, Jerry Phillips, said, “The only way we can keep the Royal Theater alive is for local people to buy tickets and become regular patrons of the opry and the Royal Theater Live presentations.”

The dates for Texasville Opry are March 19 (Kitchen Sink Show), July 19 (Classic Country Show), and Nov. 19 (Country Christmas/ Gospel/Patriotic Show). The Texas Pride Band will be on hand to back up local singers and musicians.

Opry producer, Gary Beesinger, said, “After 2 years of being shut down it’s exciting to be back with three shows in 2022. Many prior patrons have asked for the shows to continue, and we are going to do our best to do so. We’re hoping more local people will buy tickets and enjoy the shows. The shows have been on the Royal stage for 22 years which speaks volumes about the quality of the show.”

The price of admission to the opry is $17.50. A three-show pass is offered at $50. Ticket can be obtained by phone at 940-574-2489, Option 1.
