Brenda Bates O'Neill

Brenda Bates O’Neill, age 67, of Henrietta, passed away Friday, Jan.19, 2024, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 25, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Allen Bates, Pastor of Victory Church in Decatur, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Brenda was born Jan. 24, 1956 to the late Robert Lee Bates and Orene Owen Bates in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She graduated from Wichita Falls High School. Brenda worked at Howmet Castings until her retirement.

In 1986, she and Michael O’Neill were married in Wichita Falls. Together they had four children, Kelly, Michael, Cody and Tara.

Brenda loved being a “Nana” to her grandchildren and spending time with them. She also loved Monarch Butterflies.

Survivors include sons, Cody O’Neill and wife, Dallas of Rockport, Texas; daughters, Kelly Ann Gottsponer and husband, Glenn pf Little Rock, Arkansas, Tara Franco and husband, Richard of Wichita Falls; brothers, Bobby Bates and wife, Sandie of Holliday and Freddy Bates and wife, Barbara of Wichita Falls; sisters, Barbara Cordova of Henrietta, and Debra Skinner of Burkburnett; eleven grandchildren, Michael Paul, Jon, Zakk, Guitara, Leland, Maliyah, Paityn, Olivia, Drayton, Renagayde and Grace; and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was also preceded in death by son, Michael Ted O’Neill, II; brothers Danny Lee and Donny Ray Bates; sisters, Linda Bates and Martha Farris; and nieces, Vicky Wood, Kelly Farris and Angie Skinner.
