Tuesday, March 16 Bowie 7, Holliday 6 Bowie rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to upset the eighthranked Eagles, 7-6. Holliday surrendered a bases-loaded, one-out single in the final frame to suffer their first district loss of the year.

County track and field update

Archer City traveled to Seymour on Thursday, March 18, for the Seymour Run and Gun. The Wildcats finished second behind the Panthers, falling short of the title by four points. The Lady Cats finished fourth behind Stamford (211), Seymour (129) and Throckmorton (122).

Monday, March 15 Windthorst 15, Olney 0 The Trojanettes pounded out 17 hits and plated 11 runs in the home half of the first in a 15-0 rout of Olney. Bree Kirk (3 R, 2 RBI) and Camryn Latham (2 R, 3 RBI) each went 4-for-4, combining for three doubles.

Lady Eagles, Trojanettes track and field keep winning

For the second-straight week, the Holliday Lady Eagles and Windthorst Trojanettes dominated the track and field circuit. Holliday hosted its first track meet since the late 1990s and took first place, more than doubling second-place Breckenridge (114) with 260 points at the Hero Relays. Windthorst held off Quanah, 174 to 171 to record their second-straight win at the Munday Mogul Relays.

Jill Liles amd Cade Strickland won a championship in mixed doubles at day one of the Seymour Tournament on Monday, March 15. Chase Curry won the boys singles championship. Layne Briggs and Luke Haehn took second place in boys doubles. Chandler Clark and Jaxton Barrett placed second in mixed doubles. Seth Deerinwater won the consolation bracket in boys singles. Tuesday, March 9 Archer City 12, Graford 2 (Game 1) Maddie Lopez went 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple and Emma Gray went 2-for-3 with a double as the Lady Cats downed Graford 12-2. Jill Liles (4-7) struck out 10 while allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks.

Holliday Solo and Ensemble

On Saturday, Feb. 28, Holliday High and Middle School students performed at the Region Solo and Ensemble contest in Burkburnett. These students received a Superior Rating and advanced to the State contest: Carley Koski on oboe and piano, Carter Koski on piano, Maddie Reynolds on marimba, Bailey Marks on marimba, Andrew Draper on trombone and Sarah Rivers with a vocal solo. Hoff named Eagle Scout

Eli Alvin Hoff, a 15-year-old freshman at Highland Park High School, was recently named an eagle scout. He is the son of Trecie and Randy Hoff and brother to Audrey and CeCe. His grandparents are Cherry and Grady Schenk of Scotland and Barbara and Neil Hoff of Windthorst.
