Tuesday, April 13 Archer City 15, Chico 0 (Gm. 1) Six different Lady Cats collected multiple hits, including three-hit games from Mallory Maxwell and Emma Gray as Archer City thumped Chico, 15-0.

The Holliday tennis team performed well at the District 7-3A meet on April 12-13 in Bowie, advancing two singles champions and a girl’s doubles team to the regional tournament.

Archer City and Windthorst’s girls both performed well at the District 9/10-2A Area Meet on Wednesday, April 14, in Graham. The Trojanettes finished fourth behind Haskell (136) and Stamford (109) with 67 points while the Lady Cats came in eighth with 28 points.

Tuesday, April 6 Archer City 20, Perrin-Whitt 0 Maddie Lopez and Mallory Maxwell each drove in four runs and Jill Liles (11-8) tossed a one-hitter as the Lady Cats blanked the Lady Pirates 20-0. Lopez went 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored while Maxwell went 1-for-1 with a threerun dinger.

The Lady Eagles ran away with the District 7-3A meet on Thursday, April 8, at City View. Holliday (251) topped second-place Breckenridge (98) by more than 150 points.

The Archer County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people suspected of running a chop shop operation off of Newsome road at the end of March. According to the probable cause affidavit, the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle on Newsome Road on Wednesday, March 24.
