Glo-Ball tournament raises funds for AC Cheerleaders

The unidentified flying objects over the Archer City Country Club last Saturday night were discovered to be glowing golf balls. After nine holes of conventional tournament golf before dark, players were treated to a meal before venturing out for nine holes in the dark.

Travelers on U.S. 281 just north of Windthorst will find on the east side of the highway a mural at Carcano’s Fine Meats. The mural is a creation by local artist Brea’n Thompson depicting all things Texas. Thompson said, “The Carcanos love it and the community loves it. It was a good, fun project.”

County approves 6% raise for all employees

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court continued its discussion regarding budget and tax rates for the fiscal year 2022 during its meeting Monday, July 26. County Tax Assessor-Collector Dawn Vieth said she received the 2021 truth in taxation form from the state comptroller’s at 4:15 p.m.

Five land on TSWA All-State team

In a county rich with baseball talent, it should come as no surprise that Archer County was well-represented on the Class 2A Texas Sports Writers Association All-State squad as five individuals picked up all-state honors.
