The Humane Society of Wichita County posted a picture on Facebook of a dog seized by law enforcement in Archer City. Cheryl Heineken, Executive Director at the animal shelter, referred to him as Alfred. Rachael Arbuckle and her son Oliver took an immediate interest.

The Archer Public Library was established in 1968 with Virginia Parsley Talyor serving as the first librarian. The non-profit was originally housed in a small room behind Archer City City Hall before moving to its current location at 105 N. Center.

The Sheriff’s Office received 175 calls for service this last week. As this report is being written there were 25 inmates 5 being female in the Archer County Jail.
