Alfred gets a home

The Humane Society of Wichita County posted a picture on Facebook of a dog seized by law enforcement in Archer City. Cheryl Heineken, Executive Director at the animal shelter, referred to him as Alfred. Rachael Arbuckle and her son Oliver took an immediate interest.

Archer Public Library continues growth

The Archer Public Library was established in 1968 with Virginia Parsley Talyor serving as the first librarian. The non-profit was originally housed in a small room behind Archer City City Hall before moving to its current location at 105 N. Center.

Before he took the stage last Friday night for a soldout acoustic guitar swap with fellow singer-songwriter Mike McClure, Cody Canada spent some time wandering through the Archer City Cemetery. “I don’t do cemeteries,” Canada said, but he wanted to pay homage to his ancestors.
