The Sheriff’s Office received 128 calls for service this week. As this report is being written there are 37 inmates and seven being female in the Archer County Jail.

The jury charged with determining innocence or guilt in The State of Texas versus Charles Ray Hunter murder trial took only 16 minutes to return a guilty verdict Monday, Dec. 6.

A high-speed chase through Archer County ended with a collision in the heart of Archer City Friday evening. According to Archer County Sheriff Jack Curd, an Archer County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed and attempted to stop a dark colored passenger car for traveling approximately 90 miles per hour on FM 440 near Holliday.
