Musicians and songwriters paint a picture of the world with their sounds, telling stories of joy and heartbreak and of beauty or sorrow. Country music is famous for sometimes combining all of those elements into one song as it has evolved over the decades. The ups and downs of the lives of many artists can be told in just such a way, including that of one of the pioneers of country music, Texas native Ernest Tubb. Joy is a choice

Body
Blessed Assurance! In Kay Warren’s book entitled Choose Joy, she states that “Joy is a choice.” Then she goes on to give the following definition of joy: “Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately that everything is going to be all right, and the determined choice to praise God in all things.” 1 I have kept her defini I have kept her definition in the Notes of my iPhone, since I read her book. During a walk in the park, I felt prompted to review it again and reflect.
