Now you can use your library card to check out a mobile hotspot device - just like a book. These pocket-sized devices are easy to use and can connect up to 8 devices, such as your smart phone, laptop, and tablet, to cellular Internet. Use the device to surf the Internet, help your children do their homework, connect to health and banking services, and much, much more! The device and service are already paid for, you just need to come in to the library to check it out!

Last week we shared with you the policies put into place and some of the artifacts that the Archer County Museum and Arts Center still has intact. This week we want to share with you some history of the jail building and our plan for it.

The Sheriff’s Office received 117 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 32 inmates and six being female in the Archer County Jail.

Russell (Rusty) Kirby Looper, 61, of Holliday, passed away with his family by his side, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, in Dallas.

Cy Adrian Russum was born Nov. 25, 1939 at home in the Elliot “Bugscuffle”, Texas community to Leonard Kermit “Pete” Russum and Lydia Leanna Hunt Russum. He passed away on Feb. 28, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

After the resignation of athletic director and head football coach Shad Hanna, Archer City ISD has named Bradan Ritchey the next leader of Wildcats athletics. Ritchey was named the new athletic director at the Archer City school board meeting Monday night.
