Archer County provides aid to Jacksboro

Archer County first responders sprung into action and provided mutual aid to the city of Jacksboro and Jack County after a suspected tornado caused significant damage to the town Monday, March 21. No fatalities and only minor injuries had been reported as of Tuesday morning.

Sunday and the official first day of spring. We had a pretty good day at the nursery yesterday. I passed by Smith’s Gardentown on my way to a gig at River Bend Nature Center. They were packed. If your plan was to try and get the jump on spring you have missed your chance.

The Sheriff’s Office received 171 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 34 inmates and seven being female in the Archer County Jail.

I don’t have to go down the list of things that we hear happening in the news, talk radio and continual conversations. The events unfolding around us provide and empowering choice. We can focus on the chaos or focus on Christ. There’s a great verse that has four encouraging thoughts to help us regain a Biblical perspective instead of an ever-changing emotional perspective.
