The Trojanettes ran away with the district 9-2A meet last year scoring 191 team points, 58 points better than second place Quanah. The good news for the Trojanettes is the district championship team returns practically everyone.

Wednesday, March 9 Holliday 11, Jacksboro 0 It was the Addison Lindemann show in Jacksboro last Wednesday as the junior powered Holliday (14- 1, 1-0) to an 11-0 win in its district opener. Lindemann (9-1) recorded a strikeout for 20 of the 21 outs while scattering three hits on just 93 pitches.

Cooper Turner (1-1) picked up the win, tossing 4.0 innings, scattering one hit and two walks for three unearned runs while striking out six.

The Sheriff’s Office received 159 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 31 inmates and seven being female in the Archer County Jail.

The Windthorst Elementary kids knocked the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge out of the park. All 273 students participated in the heart challenge during their PE class on March 2.
