Jackson named Nortex RPC secretary

Press Release Archer County Judge Randy Jackson was elected as Secretary of the Nortex Regional Planning Commission for the next year in a recent meeting. The Executive Committee of Nortex Regional Planning Commission elected Jackson at its regular monthly Board meeting in September to serve in this capacity for the Commission.

Archer County Mueseum and Arts Center plans Halloween events

This Halloween season, the Archer County Museum and Arts Center has planned a few family- friendly Halloween events. Following the citywide Halloween in Holliday on Saturday, Oct. 29, the Archer County Museum and Arts Center is hosting a free screening of Hocus Pocus at the City Park. The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. Each attendee will be entered into a drawing for a Hocus Pocus-themed tumbler.

The Sheriff’s Office received 156 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 18 inmates and 4 being female in the Archer County Jail. On Tuesday, Holliday Police received a call of a lady walking her dog and a stray pit-bull was attacking that dog. Holliday Police Chief Stevens arrived in the area and was unable to find the pit-bull. A report was made and all officers were given a description of the pit-bull. If you see a loose aggressive dog in Holliday, please contact City Hall at 940-5861313.

Windthorst’s Cameron Belcher claimed her thirdstraight district championship with a time of 12:22.18 at the District 9-2A Championships on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Seymour. Belcher topped Nocona’s Bayler Smith by 49 seconds.
