The Windthorst ISD school board approved the purchase of an athletic all terrain vehicle up to $15,000 and to coaches for their time during the summer athletic conditioning program during its board meeting Monday, April 17.

With early voting set to begin for the May 6 election on Monday, six Archer County taxing entities will be holding elections. Voters who live in the Archer City ISD district, city of Holliday, Holliday ISD district, city of Megargel, city of Windthorst and Windthorst ISD district will be voting on naming representatives to the school boards and city councils respectively.

With early voting set to begin on Monday, April 24, registered voters in Holliday ISD are set to voice their opinion on the district’s bond proposal. The $40 million bond includes three propositions which all must be passed separately for the proposed projects to be completed.

Clara Jean Smith, age 94, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Archer City, passed away on April 12, 2023 under the care of Hospice of Wichita Falls. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m.

Fri., April 14 Holliday 15, City View 0 Holliday (20-1) routed City View on Senior Day behind a dominant performance in the circle by Addison Lindemann while every starter in the Lady Eagles’ lineup collected at least one hit. Lindemann (15-1) hurled a perfect game, striking out all nine batters while throwing 27 of her 39 pitches for strikes.
