Body The Windthorst ISD school board approved the hiring of and contract for its new superintendent Jason Nolan at a special board meeting on Monday, July 31. Nolan, the former Burkburnett High School principal, was named the lone finalist for the position in a July 6 board meeting.

County continues discussions on Senate Bill 22, budget

Body The Archer County Commissioner’s Court continued discussion Senate Bill 22, the 23-24 budget and tax rate in a special called meeting Monday, July 31. The commissioners would have to raise the Sheriff’s salary from $65,500 to $75,000 to qualify for the Senate Bill 22 grant.

Body The Archer Public Library concluded its Summer Reading Program this week. The library had 18 participants in the reading contest who logged 257 hours of reading! The library hosted four Summer Reading performances which had 198 attendees.
