The Holliday FFA Chapter performed well at the Wichita District LDE Contest. The following FFA students competed at the Wichita District LDE Contest last Friday.
Holliday made it look easy. The Eagles (10-1) scored in all three phases – in the first four minutes no less – and essentially ended their bi-district matchup with Eastland (3-8) before it ever really got started in a 44-7 rout.
The Lady Eagles exceeded all expectations in 2023. For a team that returned just four letterwinners from last year’s squad and adding a first-time head coach, few believed the Lady Eagles were capable of an unbeaten run through district and a pair of playoff wins.
The wet, cold and windy weather led to a less than ideal first half for Windthorst in their bi-district game against Lindsay before a second-half explosion catapulted the Trojans to the win on Thursday, Nov. 9, in Bowie.
Since we are followers of Jesus Christ, people sometimes shy away from us. Notice, I didn’t use the word “Christian.' The word Christian has been overused and abused to further personal agendas or ideals. But the reality is, we are Christians. We are children of the living God. Believers in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are people filled with the Holy Spirit, called to share the Good News.
The Sheriff’s Office received 231 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 23 inmates and 3 being female in the Archer County Jail.
