Parkey attends National 4-H Congress in Georgia

Over the Thanksgiving break I, Isabelle Parkey, was able to attend the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta Georgia, along with 29 other 4-H members from Texas. National 4-H Congress is the flagship event of the National 4-H program.

ACISD gets grant for band

Archer City ISD announced that it received a Community Grant from Walmart/Sams Club in the amount of $1,500. The money will be used to help fund the band's trip to Austin/San Antonio in the spring semester.

The Archer Public Library will be closed Monday, December 25th and Tuesday December 26th for Christmas, and Monday, January 1st for New Years. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Thank you to Donna Haile for her donation in memory of Sonny Rux.

The trees are going dormant now. At the nursery we have begun the yearly ritual of potting trees into larger containers. After we pot them we will hold them “not for sale,” until they have healed and grown new roots. This generally takes about 6 months before we can safely be assured of a full root mass at the point of sale. Meanwhile, from now until bud break we offer the general public overgrown trees with roots extending out of the drain holes. They do this once they find the rich compost that comes from adding mulch to our tree beds every fall/winter. Perfect growing medium. Full of worms… And beneficial microbes.
