The fifth place Lady Cats looked to keep playoff hopes alive as they sat just one game behind the fourth place Petrolia Lady Pirates. The get-right game would not come on Friday, however, as the top ranked Lady Indians defeated Archer City 89-21.

The 1-3 Wildcats looked to wrap-up the first round of district opponents with a win and keep pace with the Petrolia Pirates, who sat in fourth place with a one game lead. The Wildcats battled to the end but couldn’t make up the deficit as the Indians coasted to a 56-39 victory.

Both teams sat at 1-2 and looked to hit the .500 mark nearing the halfway point in the district. The two rival teams did not disappoint, with a gripping contest that saw the Trojans narrowly survive the Wildcats 59-52.
