The Archer City Lady Cats traveled to Petrolia to take on the Lady Pirates in district action on Friday, Jan. 19. The thrilling matchup came down to the wire, with Petrolia narrowly beating Archer City 35-33.
As easy as Holliday made the first four games of district play look – winning by an average of 20 points en-route to a 4-2 start – the last four contests have the Lady Eagles looking mortal and far from the favorites in the District 7-3A race.
The Archer City Lady Cats hosted the Seymour Lady Panthers for their fourth district game of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Despite pacing the Lady Panthers in the first half, the Lady Cats struggled to find success on offense in the second half, losing 69-30 and falling to 1-3 in district.
The Windthorst Trojanettes battled the 2A sixthranked Nocona Lady Indians for district supremacy at home on Tuesday, Jan. 16. For the first time all season, the Trojanettes did not reach the 30-point mark, dropping their first district game of the year 51-27.
The Archer City Wildcats made their way to Petrolia to take on the Pirates in district play on Friday, Jan. 19. The Wildcats fought for the full four quarters, but the Pirates built up too big a bounty, defeating Archer City 50-32.
