Archer County 4-H member Sadie Hoskins placed 4th in the District 3 4-H Fashion Storyboard Contest. As images are created and submitted virtually, the awards were presented at the District Fashion Show this past weekend.

The Holliday City Council met on Monday, April 8 to discuss and announce the search for a City Administrator, a position that hasn’t been open in over 20 years. “You’ve gotta have the right person,” Mayor Allen Moore said about the City’s search for an administrator.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by the The Wichita Falls Area Cattlewomen, an organization of women who are involved in or support the beef industry. Applicants must meet the following criteria.

A City Wide Clean Up for the City of Archer City is scheduled for Monday, April 22 through Sunday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily except for Sunday, April 28, when the hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Holliday christened its new baseball and softball complex with a sweep of Vernon on Friday, April 5. The Lady Eagles drubbed the Lady Lions 11-0 before the Eagles walked off the Lions on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch, 3-2.

It was an impressive district showing for the Eagles and Lady Eagles at the District 7-3A Track and Field Meet on Weds., April 3, with Holliday sweeping both boys and girls championships for the first time since 2013. While the girls success has been well documented, a renewed interest in the boys track program has fueled the Eagles’ to their first district title in over a decade, outpacing Vernon by 40.
