After a miracle returned the 24th season back to the stage this Saturday night, July 20, everyone will see the Texasville Opry back on the Royal Theater stage for a Classic Country and Traditional show with Jackie Watson as the new Emcee and Producer for the show, assisted by Chris Whalen.

The Holliday Track and Cross-Country teams have enjoyed mountains of success for the last 20 years, with numerous state gold-medals and top place finishes in both track and cross-country. Countless great Eagles and Lady Eagles have come and gone, but one constant has always remained, and has been around for all the glory, head cross country coach and girls’ track coach Glenn Griffin.

97th District Attorney indicted for theft

97th District Attorney Casey Hall was indicted for theft of property greater than $2,500 less than $30,000 from Montague County on Monday, July 8. An order was also signed disqualifying her as District Attorney for the case and appointing Matthew Shawhan, of the Office of the Attorney General Criminal Prosecution Division, as District Attorney Pro Tem.

Windthorst ISD raises lunch prices

The Windthorst ISD school board approved raising the cafeteria lunch prices from $3 to $3.50 for the 2024-2025 school year during its board meeting Monday, July 8. Superintendent Jason Nolan said the increase in price is being driven more by the state than it is locally.
