The Archer City Lady Cats improved to a 6-2 record after they took down the Wichita Christian Lady Stars in the Lady Cat’s first away game of the season (outside of tournaments). The Lady Cats notched their six wins of the year after a 3-1 victory over the private school on Tuesday night, Aug. 20.

The cities of Archer City, Holliday, Lakeside City, Megargel, Scotland and Windthorst saw an increase in sales tax in August than they did in the same time frame in 2023. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Aug.

A first set loss is all it took for Holliday to snap back into their usual volleyball dominance, defeating the Nocona Lady Indians 3-1 in the Lady Indian’s own home on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The Sheriff’s Office received 189 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 25 inmates 4 being female in the Archer County Jail.
