Scotland town clean up set for October 5

The City of Scotland is sponsoring a Town Clean-Up on Saturday, October 5th. This is a free service! All residents are encouraged to clean up their property and place items into the large dumpsters located at the Scotland Trash Collection Center on Avenue I behind the fire department. The gates will be open Saturday, 8am – 5pm or until dumpsters are full. Once the dumpsters reach capacity, the gates will be locked. Please do not put items outside the fence or throw items over the fence. Also, below is a list of items NOT accepted at any Texas landfill:

Archer City ISD looking for Book Buddies

The Archer City Elementary School Book Buddy Program is looking for volunteers to take 30 minutes a week to help with the development and growth of an elementary student. The book buddy program was started in 2016 by Vicki Davis and Jessica Deerinwater.

Oncor donates $25,000 to Holliday VFD

Oncor Cares Foundation announced its most recent investment in Texas communities: $650,000 to support critical training and equipment for 26 fire departments across West and Northwest Texas. Holliday Volunteer Fire and Rescue is one of 26 grant recipients.

HISD faces bond project decision

The Holliday ISD school board must decide on which part of the district bond project to put on hold while it waits for money to be released from the bond. The district has drawn down $31,300,000 of its $41,800,000 bond that was passed in May of 2023.
