The Sheriff’s Office received 179 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 25 inmates 4 being female in the Archer County Jail.

The Trojanettes climbed back twice against the Lady Cats in their home volleyball game on Tuesday, Sept. 3. But despite the battle to stay alive, Henrietta was able to hold on for the 3-1 match victory over Windthorst.
The Lady Cats took on the Class 1A #3 ranked Harrold Lady Hornets on Tuesday, Sept. 3. These two teams faced off once this season, in the Cool in Boomtown volleyball tournament in Burkburnett on Friday, Aug. 16, with the Lady Hornets sweeping Archer City 2-0 in the tournament. For their second matchup, the Lady Cats travelled to Harrold with hopes to avenge their loss from a month prior.
Eight Archer County nonprofit organizations are participating in the regional fundraising program Texoma Gives, which kicks off at 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, with donations able to be given before the event.
The Archer City Lady Cats hosted the Class 3A Jacksboro Tigerettes in volleyball action on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Coming off a lessthan desirable showing at the Lu Allen volleyball tournament in Graham just a few days prior, Coach Krissa England and her young Lady Cat squad looked to bounce back in a big way versus the Tigerettes.
The Archer City Wildcat bussed west for the team’s season-opener on the gridiron, facing off against the Quanah Indians on Friday, Aug. 30. Last season, the Wildcats battered the Indians 44-8, and looked to once against kickoff the season with a dominant win.
