The Windthorst Trojans and Trojanettes finished out the week with a sweep over the Electra Tigers and Lady Tigers at home on Saturday, Jan 11. Windthorst 49 Electra 42 Sophomore guard Jayle Belcher feasted on the Lady Tigers throughout the contest, scoring nine, nine, and six points in the first, second, and third quarters respectively, finishing with four in the fourth for a team and career-high 28 points.

Late run leads Lady Eagles over Jacksboro

The Lady Eagles seem to enjoy winning nail-biting district games, and Friday’s home matchup with the Jacksboro Tigerettes was no different as after being tied at 27-27 in the fourth quarter, Holliday eventually took a 3130 lead before going on a 9-4 run with under two minutes to seal the 40-32 victory.

Eagles’ defense stifles Jacksboro

Defense and rebounding is what set the Holliday Eagles apart in their 62-45 home-court clobbering over a high-powered Jacksboro Tigers on Friday, Jan. 10. The Eagles converted numerous second-chance buckets while also holding the Tigers to average under 12 points a quarter, including back-to-back quarters under double digits.

ACMAC begins phase 2 of Old Archer County Jail project

The Archer County Museum and Arts Center has begun phase 2 of its restoration of the old Archer County Jail which includes the replacement of the building’s roof. Phase 2 will ensure the jail is weather-tight and will cost the non-profit organization a total of $250,000.
