The Sheriff’s Office has received 423 calls for service these past two weeks. As this report is being written there are 34 inmates with 5 being female in the Archer County Jail.

The Archer City ISD school board approved the hiring of a new secondary school principal and Head Boys’ Basketball Coach during its meeting on Tuesday, May 27. The district approved Kevin Wright as the new Boys’ Basketball Coach.

Our dear mother, Myra Yvonne Woodall Hoffman, sadly passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 80. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance.

A former Holliday pastor was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety for alleged child grooming. According to DPS Sergeant Juan Gutierrez, Texas Rangers served a warrant and arrested 31-year-old Nathan Patrick Roach Friday, May 30, for child grooming, a third-degree felony.

Former Archer City Wildcat Darryn Shearmire was inducted into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame during the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Clinic in San Antonio on Saturday, May 10.
