The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to leave the Constable Pct. 1 position vacant for the 2025-2026 fiscal year and discussed the other constables’ salaries during its meeting on Monday, July 14.

For the first time since 2016, Holliday High School welcomes a new principal into the fold, former Henrietta High School principal David Holbert. Holbert started his teaching career at Kirby Middle School in Wichita Falls in 2000.

The cities of Archer City and Lakeside City, saw an increase in sales tax rebates in July than they did in the same time frame in 2024. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for March, 10.2 percent more than in March 2024.
