Trojanettes look to make return to state tourney

Body
The 25-26 Windthorst Trojanettes will be strong in a variety of ways, but possibly their biggest strength will come from the sheer amount of varsity experience each player has. This year’s squad returns 12 athletes from last season’s state semifinals run, and head coach Allison Bussey is confident in the team’s defense to once again be a strong point.

“Three yards and a cloud of dust,” the age-old adage describes an offensive philosophy that aims to overwhelm opponents with tough, physical plays on ground. The 25-26 Archer City Wildcats will look to follow that motto as they return four offensive linemen from an offense that had almost 4000 rushing yards, 48 rushing touchdowns, and averaged 332.3 rushing yards per game last season.
The Wildcats will feature an almost completely new crew at the skill positions after they graduated their starting quarterback and several leading running backs/receivers. File photo
