The Sheriff’s Office has received 439 calls for service these past two weeks. As this report is being written there are 24 inmates 3 being female in the Archer County Jail.

With the city of Holliday approving its tax rate on Monday, Sept. 29, Archer County, its cities and school districts have adopted their tax rates for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Below is a recap of each.

Nearly every Archer County city saw a decrease in sales tax revenue in September than they did in September of 2024. However, nearly every Archer County city tax revenue remains higher than the previous year.

The Texas Department of State Health Services has no charge flu immunizations available for eligible children and adults. Flu and back-to-school immunizations are available by appointment.

Archer City notched their first district win following their loss to the Lady Indians, sweeping the Lady Cubs at home. The two sat tied at 11-11 before Olney pulled away with an 8-2 run to go ahead 20-13.
