Both Windthorst track teams claimed the top spots at the Panther Pride Relays in Seymour on Wednesday, March 25. The Trojans won with 195 points, 81 more than second-place Munday, while the Trojanettes finished with 179.50, 29.50 points than second- place Seymour.

Tuesday, March 24 Archer City 26 Electra 0 The Lady Cats needed just two innings at the plate to match their season-high in hits (17) and set their season-high in runs (26) in their crushing win over the Electra Lady Tigers. Archer City poured in 17 runs in the first inning alone.

The Windthorst Trojans put up double-digit runs for their thirdstraight district game on Monday, March 23 against the Seymour Panthers. The team finished with as many hits (11) as they had runs (11).

The Holliday Lady Eagles’ district run of dominance continued into their next series as they trounced the City View Lady Mustangs by a combined 36-2 in their two games on Tuesday, March 24, and Friday, March 27.

The Holliday Eagles bounced back in a big way on the baseball diamond. After a pair of heart-breaking losses to the Henrietta Bearcats, head coach Jason Kress and his Eagles rattled off two important wins over the City View Mustangs on Tuesday, March 24 and Friday, March 27.

The Holliday Lady Eagles came away with another first-place finish as a team at the City View Heath Aldrich Relays on Wednesday, March 25. The Lady Eagles took first with 182 points while the Eagles claimed a silver as a team with 142 points.

The Archer City Wildcats improved to four district wins following their series sweep over the Electra Tigers on Tuesday, March 24 and Friday, March 27. In the series, the Wildcats won a combined 34-1.

The Holliday ISD school board voted against a resolution that installed a period of prayer and reading of the Bible or other religious text during its board meeting on Monday, March 23. Holliday Superintendent Cody Carroll said the board had to decide on the resolution following the passing of Senate Bill 11.

The Sheriff’s Office has received 261 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 33 inmates 5 being female in the Archer County Jail.
