Hometown Gardner

The Mohave Desert is burning. My first thought was, “How in the world do you catch a desert on fire?” Widely spaced plants evolved to store water for long periods, plants that are used to hot/dry conditions. On fire? Unheard of. I had to watch the newsreels and there it was. The fire, covering 150 square miles and still burning, the endemic yucca called Joshua Tree plus everything else like so…
