The Windthorst Trojans trekked south to face the top ranked 2A Lipan Indians Friday, Dec 15. The Indians overwhelmed the Trojans, winning handedly 59-30.
The Holliday Lady Eagles continued their dominance over District 7-3A with a pair of double- digit wins to open the 2023-24 league campaign with lopsided victories over Vernon and Bowie. “It feels good to be 2-0 in district,” Holliday head coach Derek Winn said.
There have been a number of all-time greats to don the Red and White in basketball at Holliday. Senior Keitenn Bristow has a chance to top them all and become the school’s first NCAA DI signee and if early results from his final campaign in the Red and White are any indication, the 6-foot-8 guard is going to be drowning in offers by the time National Signing Day rolls around.
Holliday continues to drop the hammer on its opponents. The Eagles (12-2) pushed their winning streak out to 12 games with a pair of dominant performances against Paradise and Nocona.
Archer City ISD announced that it received a Community Grant from Walmart/Sams Club in the amount of $1,500. The money will be used to help fund the band's trip to Austin/San Antonio in the spring semester.
