Dale 'Da Ba' Peden, age 100 and 8 months, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 19, 2024, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Joy Cemetery in Joy, Texas under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Dale was born May 26, 1923 to the late James Marian Watson and Delia Pearl Lucas Watson in Joy, Texas.

She and Carl W. Peden were married May 23, 1942 in Joy. He preceded her in death on Sept.24, 2005.

Dale was co-owner of Peden Tank Trucks from 1968 until 1990 where she also was the secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Archer City.

Dale enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and cooking for everyone. In 2023, Dale received a Declaration of Longevity from the Senate of the State of Texas.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Waddell and husband, Otis of Arlington; two sons, David Peden of Windthorst and Danny Peden and wife, Colleen of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by daughter, Charolette Starks; grandson, Barry Peden; great-granddaughter, Dannya Peden; great-grandson, Austin Garner; sister, Sylvia Baker; brothers, Ervin, George and Don Watson.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tanner Peden, Sam Haney, Tate Schroeder, Benjamin Waddell, Joshua Waddell and Matthew Waddell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Timothy Waddell and Phillip Geho.
