Jerry David Owen, age 82, of Archer City, Texas passed away on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, in Wichita Falls.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Grace Community Church with Pastor Jon Curry officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Jerry was born Aug. 4, 1941 in Wichita Falls to the late Oscar Haskell Owen and Lillian Pauline Burks Owen.

He attended school in Archer City. Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Army. After his tour of duty, he returned to Archer City.

He married the love of his life and his sweetheart, Ima Jean Lowack on Nov. 14, 1964 in Archer City.

Jerry worked in the oilfield throughout his life for several oil companies. He then was the owner and operator of Owen Well Service until his retirement.

Jerry was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Jerry loved God and was always studying his bible. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved going to the Archer Public Library where he would check out stacks of books.

Survivors include his wife, Ima Jean Owen; two sons, David Owen and wife, Mary Sue and Johnny Owen and wife, Jennifer all of Archer City; three sisters, Linda Howell of Archer City, Carla Moore of Jacksboro and Tanya Dunlap of Camden, New York; five grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Ethan, Whitney and Kiara; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Jim; and one great-grandson, Ryan Wade Owen.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Kiara, Ethan and Whitney and his good friend, Scott Stonesifer.
